Antonio Guterres on Four Days Pakistan Visit
Online Desk (PTI) : India flatly rejects UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ offer of mediation on Kashmir and says the real issue that needs to be addressed is to vacate territories ‘illegally and forcibly ‘ occupied by Pakistan.
On his four days visit to Pakistan, UN chief Antonio Guterres said it was important for India and Pakistan to de-escalate ‘Military and verbally’ and exercise ‘maximum restraint’ to amidst tense relationship between the two nuclear powerful neighbors.
Addressing a press conference after a meeting with Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi , Guterres said he was ‘deeply concerned’ over the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and tension along the Line of Control.
Guterres’ added “Diplomacy and dialogue is only tools that guarantee peace and stability with solution in accordance with the Charter of UN and resolutions of the Security Council’
But in his controversial word , Antonio Guterres said “I offered my good offices from the beginning . I am ready to help if both countries agree for mediation”

In reaction of this offer , India clearly said Kashmir is fully a internal matter and says the real issue that needs to be addressed is to vacate territories ‘illegally and forcibly ‘ occupied by Pakistan.
