Kazakhstan’s Olympic medallist figure skater Denis Ten cut to death
Kazakhstan’s figure skater Denis Ten was cut to death on Thursday at 25 years old.
Ten had anchored bronze award amid the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
Police in Almaty said Ten was cut amid a battle with two men he had found attempting to take the mirrors on his auto. Police have opened a murder examination.
The International Skating Union (ISU), the game’s worldwide overseeing body, said it was “profoundly disheartened” by the passing of Ten who won bronze at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
Ten completed eleventh at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and after four years in Sochi turned into the primary skater from Kazakhstan to win an Olympic decoration.
