Digital Desk: Due to ‘unprofessional conduct ‘ head coach of Dallas Stars Jim Montgomery has been dismissed and assistant coach Rick Bowness will assume the role of interim head coach for the team.
Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nil said in a statement that “The Dallas stars expect all of our employees to act with integrity and exhibit behavior while working for and representing our organization.
He added “This decision was made due to unprofessional conduct inconsistent with the core values and beliefs of the Dallas Stars and the National Hockey League ”
50 years old Jim Montgomery, joined the Dallas prior the 2018-2019 season after five years as head coach at the University of Denver.
However, assistant coach Rick Bowness will take over NHL giant Dallas Stars on an interim basis with Darek Laxdal, the head coach of the Dallas ‘ AHL affiliate, being added to Bowness’ coaching staff as an assistant. Rick Bowness , 64, served as head coach of five teams from 1988-2004, including a four years stint with the Ottawa Senators and has been a assistant coach with Dallas Stars since 2018. He has 123-289–43-3 record as a head coach in the NHL.
