Abhinaya Sharadhe no more
Legendary Kannada actress Jayanthi, well known as Abhinaya Sharade, breathed her last during her sleep on Monday. She was aged 76. The Goddess of acting Jayanthi has acted over hundreds of films that span across five languages and has resigned on top, especially in the Kannada film industry, where she was known by the moniker Abhinaya Sharade.
The veteran’s actress son’s Krishna Kumar confirmed the news of her death where he stated that she was recovering from illnesses, but eventually breathed her last during her sleep.
Jayanthi has won the Karnataka State Film Awards seven times and the fieldfare awards twice. She has also won several other awards. She has shared screen space with the topmost stars for her era like Dr. Rajkumar, NTR and MGR among others.
Celebrities, fans and politicians have mourned the death of Jayanthi.
