Berhampore College hosts ‘Yuva Utsav-India@2047’
‘Panch-Pran Amrit Kaal’-Yuva Utsav@2047′
Berhampore, Murshidabad: Berhampore College hosted the district level ‘Yuva Utsav-India@2047’, a Pan-India flagship initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) in collaboration with NSS unit of Berhampore College.
The event was launched across 150 district across India. This initiative was launched in commemoration of 75 years of Independence-‘Azadi-ki-Amrit-Mahotsav’ and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Panch Pran Amrit Kaal, the first of it being ‘Goal of developed India’, which was also the theme for several competitions in this Yuva Utsav.
Five competitions were simultaniously held for colleges and schools in painting, declamation, poetry, cultural show and photography. Panch Pran are the Yuva Utsav themes. These are-
- India’s development aspiration
- To eradicate all traces of slavery and the colonial mentality
- Be proud of our history and legacy
- solidarity and cooperation
- Citizen’s sense of responsibility

Berhampore College, populary known as Baharampur Commerce College, hosted the district level programme. The special guest for the programme was District Magistrate, Murshidabad Mr. Rajashree Mitra.

NSS Programme Officer of Berhampore College Dr. Indrani Basu conveyed the welcome address and a short introductory speech was delivered by the Principal Dr. Samaresh Mandal.
The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where the host college won most prizes.
