CBSE asks schools to conduct re-exam for backlog students of class 9, 11

New Delhi : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice to affiliate schools to provide students who have failed in Class 9 and Class 11 , an opportunity to re-appear the examinations. Schools can decide on Online, Offline , or innovative tests and may decide to promote on basis of the test conducted.

The CBSE had earlier asked the schools to pass the students of Class 1-8 . Whereas , Class 9 & Class 11 students were asked to be promoted on the basis of internal assessment .

Now, for students, who have failed the said exams , will be given a second chance to clear the exam.

According to the CBSE Notice “It has come to the notice on the Board that schools are being mislead stating that till the time LPA No 154 of 2020 , Rukmini Devi Public School VS CBSE filed in the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi is not disposed of there is no need to complying the notification dated 13-05-2020 by the schools. It has also come to the notice that schools are therefore not extending the opportunity to the failed students of class 9th and 11th”

CBSE reminds that during the hearing, Delhi High Court has not quashed its May 13 notification and has asked schools to abide by its direction without being mislead.
