Students will get Average marks : Arun Sahoo
Bhubaneswar : In view of the COVID-19 situation in Odisha, the Higher Education Department on Thursday decided to cancel both theory and practical test of the end Semester /Final year of the UG and PG Courses. The decision was taken after a video conference meeting with vice chancellors of various Universities in Odisha.
Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo led the digital meeting and directed the Universities and autonomous colleges coming under the jurisdiction of of the department, give the students average marks on the basis of the marks obtained by them in previous semesters and internal marks as per the UGC guidelines and to publish the results by August end.
According to the process , the institutions will take prescribed weightage of internal mark along with average of marks obtained in all previous semesters/years in that particular subject for the remaining weightage .

Meaniwhile, if any student think that they can get more marks than the alternative method of mark evaluation ,Universities and colleges will conduct examinations for them in November. It will published their revised results in December this year.
However. this decision is not applicable for the institutions who have already completed both theory and practical examinations. These institutions will publish the results after evaluating in the time.
If any students has two back papers , they will also not appear for the examinations. Proportionate quotient or other methods will be used for evaluation of these back papers.
If the students have more than two back papers in end semester or final year, they have to appear for the examinations like before. Institutions will come up with the examination schedules keeping this situation in mind. This decision will be implemented for all Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduates (PG) courses except medical courses .
