UP cancelled all UG-PG exams except final year
Uttar Pradesh : 1st, 2nd years students promoted to new class
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government, on Thursday, has decided to conduct only final year , last semester examination in State Universities and colleges through offline, online or mixed mode by following standard protocols. The students of first and second year of Under Graduates classes and first year of Post Graduates will be promoted on the basis of internal assessment, said Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
Mr. Sharma said “the final year and last semester examinations will be completed by September 30 either through online, offline or mixed mode by following standard protocols”
स्नातक कक्षाओं के प्रथम व द्वितीय वर्ष तथा स्नातकोत्तर के प्रथम वर्ष के विद्यार्थियों को प्रोन्नत किया जाएगा तथा दोनों में अंतिम वर्ष की परीक्षा होगी। शासन ने विश्वविद्यालयों के लिए गाइडलाइन जारी की है।

The result of final year and last year examinations shhould be announced by October 15 UG courses and October 31 for the PG Courses. Ensuring no graduate student is at a disadvantage, it has been decided that students who miss the exams for any reason, will be given an opportunity to appear in special exams for course and papers as and when the university is ready to do.
According to TOI report, Universities will do 100% evaluation on the basis of internal evaluation for students of first year of the annual pattern of exams. First year student who will see promotion to next year will have to appear in the exam of the second year. Such students will be awarded average marks (scored in subjects in second year) for subjects in which he/she didn’t appear in the first year. This applies to students who have scored the passing marks in each subject. Second Semester students who will be promoted without exams will be awarded average marks scored by him in first semester (held in December, 2019) for subjects for which exams couldn’t be held.
For intermediate Semester/ year students (applicable for three, four and five year courses) ,excluding the first and final year, a composite of 50% marks on the basis of the pattern of internal assessment adopted by the Universities and the remaining 50% marks can be awarded on the basis of performance in previous exams.
Students of Second year/fourth semester who will be promoted to next classes be awarded marks in remaining subjects (for which exams could not be held) on average on the marks scored in the previous exams.
Also, the UP board has decided to reduce its syllabus by 30 percent for this academic session.
The Higher Education Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Dinesh Shama, said that the decision was taken in wake of the coronavirus pandemic and now the classes of high school and intermediate of UP Board will run according to the new syllabus.
He said the experts will soon prepare the month wise annual educational calendar according to the class, course and chapters. It will be uploaded on the UP Board official website.
Reduce syllabus will be divided into 3 parts. One part of the course will have those content which will be taught online or with the help of Doordarshan. Second part of the course will be those portions which students can cover through self study and final part will be that content which can be included in project work.,
