Jio Meet : New video conferencing app
Reliance Jio has finally unveiled its video conferencing application JioMeet to takes of Chinese App Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. On Thursday, the India’s richest firm, backed by Mukesh Ambani, formally launched Jio Meet.
Likes Zoom and Google Meet, the indigenous JioMeet offers unlimited number of free calls in high definition (720 pixel) to users and supports as many as 100 participants on a video call.
According to the Jio Meet description on Google Play store, the application can be used for 1:1 video calls and hosting meetings with up to 100 participants with enterprise grade hosts controls .
Other features includes easy sign-up with either mobile number or email id , meeting in HD quality audio and video conference.
Jio Meet offers unlimited meetings per day and each meeting can go uninterrupted up to 24 hours. In contract, Zoom free users can hold a uninterrupted meeting only for 40 minutes.
The Reliance JioMeet application can be used on Android, Windows, IOS, Mac , SIP/H 323 systems. The multi devise support would allow JioMeet users to log into five different devises using single ID. This feature would also let users seamlessly switch from one device to another while on a running call.
The JioMeet platform has a very simple interface m just looks like Zoom Cloud Meetings.
The apps are available on Google Play Store and Apple App store for free download.
It’s no doubt a ‘make in India’ digital strike over Chinese app. Like Reliance, other Indian company should come forward to invent such popular digital platforms to avoid China’s dependency .
