Afterward, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti attempted to keep down tears as she stated, “What would i be able to state. Just a couple of days back he had come to meet me.”
Shocked & deeply saddened by the sudden demise of Shujaat Bukhari. The scourge of terror has reared its ugly head on the eve of Eid. I strongly condemn this act of mindless violence & pray for his soul to rest in peace. My deepest condolences to his family.

You exited very sudden, however you will dependably be our driving light with your expert conviction and commendable fearlessness. We won’t be cowed around the weaklings who grabbed you from us. We will maintain your standard of coming clean, howsoever unsavory it might be.
– A message distributed in the present version of Rising Kashmir
“The show must go on. As Shujaat would have needed it to,” Omar Abdullah, a previous Jammu and Kashmir boss clergyman, tweeted.
“That Shujaat’s partners could draw out the paper even with unconquerable distress is a demonstration of their polished methodology and the most fitting tribute to their late manager.”
