4 Shramik Special Trains departed from Ludhiana carrying 5000 migrants
Ludhiana : 4 Shramik Special trains carrying around 1200 migrants workers each from different states from Ludhiana (Punjab) on Friday, May 9 . These trains left for Saharsa (Bihar), Sitamarhi (Bihar), Pratapgarh (Uttar Pradesh) and Daltanganj (Jharkhand) .
However, as per Indian Railway Ministry data, railway operated around 201 Shramik Special trains till late Thursday and helped nearby 2 lakh stranded labourers , patients, tourists and students to return their native homes.
The special trains have so far departed from states like Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka , Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab , and Rajasthan.
The Union Govt. on May 1, had started labour special trains which are facilitating the return of stuck migrants vack to their homes.
