Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s Open Letter

Berhampore : Member of Parliament from Berhampore constituency (Murshidabad district) , Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury , writes an open letter to Mamata Banerjee regarding students who were stuck in Rajasthan due to nationwide lockdown amid of coronavirus.

Adhir Chowdhury said –

“Hon’ble Chief Minister

I have told you many times in the last few days about the plight of the workers and students and bringing them back .Still waiting for the reply .

Let you know , i spoke to the home ministry today regarding the students stuck in Kota (Rajasthan) and other places. …… “

However, the West Bengal Government on Tuesday expressed its inability to bring back 5000 odd students stranded Rajasthan’s educational hub Kota becasue of logistic issues amid the lockdown and objection from the Bihar administration to let them through . The WB government said “it is huge task to bring four-five thousands people all the way from Kota to Kolkata . It is long journey , with other states in between .Bihar is not allowing the journey.”

However, On April 18. BJP led UP government brought back 7500 odd students from Kota in around 250 buses. Five days after the UP government brought back its students from Kota, Madhya Pradesh government also followed the way and brought back around 3000 students from the coaching hub.

Today , Congress MP and Public Account Committee’s (PAC) chairman Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury writes an open letter to Mamata Banerjee regarding the issue of ‘stuck students’ who were stranded in Kota and other places of Rajasthan.
