JP Nadda’s convoy attacked in Bengal

New Delhi: Bhratiya Janata Party’s (BJP) National President JP Nadda’s convoy was attacked with bricks and stones in West Bengal, when it was on its way to Diamond Harbour area. BJP leaders were also injured in the attack, the party alleged, accusing the Mamata Banerjee government of serious lapse in security.

“Bengal has gone into an era of tyranny, anarchy and darkness under the Trinamool Congress rule” Union Home Minister tweeted “The manner in which political violence has been institutionalized and brought to the extreme within West Bengal under TMC rule is sad and worrying for all those who believe in democratic values”

Earlier, BJP National Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya shared a video massage and claimed TMC supporters blocked the road and pelted stones near Siracol Bus stand”

BJP Natioanl President JP Nadda said on a party meeting “If I have reached here for the meeting, it’s due to Maa Durga’s grace”

He added “Mukul Roy and Kailash Vijayvargiya were injured in the attack. It is shame on democracy. There isn’t car in our convoy which was not attacked. I am safe because I was travelling in a bullet proof car. This state of lawlessness and intolerance in West Bengal has to end”

Some BJP workers in Motorcycles were attacked with sticks. Several media vehicles were also hit with stones.

‘Nothing happened to his convoy” West Bengal police tweeted “Everyone is safe and situation is peaceful.

TMC party leaders accused the BJP of “intentional provocation” and attempting to stir trouble.
