Murderous attack on Arnab Goswami ; an act of exasperation

Who wants to hide the truth of Palghar ?

Mumbai : The editor-in-chief of Republic TV Arnab Goswami alleged he was attacked by Youth Congress workers on his way back from his studio in Mumbai. The attack took place barely 500 metres away from Arnab’s house. A police compliant already registered . Both Arnab Goswami and wife Samia Goswami were unhurt in the attack.

In a video massage Arnab Goswami blamed the physical attack was carried out by allegedly Congress goons who confessed to having been sent by party higher-ups.

Arnab said ” At around 12:15am, I was driving back from studio with my wife. My car was overtaken by two people in two bikes. They turned to me, pointed at me, they started hitting my car and trying to break the windowpane,” he said. They were throwing some sort of liquid at the vehicle, he said. The attackers were accosted, and Goswami said the security personnel informed him they were Youth Congress workers sent specifically to assault him. “They had tailed me and they were given information by higher-ups to attack me. I want to tell you Sonia Gandhi, you are the biggest coward in the country right now. You have no guts to face me and I will hold you personally responsible. If anything were to happen to me, Sonia Gandhi will be responsible “

Actually, last night, in a prime time debate show on Palghar mob Lynching , Arnab had attacked Sonia Gandhi‘s silence . Arnab asked to Sonia ” if Maulvis or Padres would have been targeted the way Hindu saints were in ; would Italy’s Antonia Maino (Sonia Gandhi) remain silent then ?” He also added “if the victim had been Christian Padres , Sonia Gandhi, would had come from Rome (Italy) would not have remained close-mouthed on the issue’

However, the murderous attack on journalist Arnab Goswami is deeply condemnable. It is an act of exasperation . Democracy and freedom of expression under threat. Already social media trending #ArnabGoswami . Check outs some tweets below –

Palghar Lynching : Shame to Humanity

On April 16, 2020, three people including 2 monks (Sadhus) and a driver lost their lives due to mob lynching. The three deceased have been identified as Sushil Giri Maharaj (35) , Maharaj Kalpavriksha Giri (70) and driver Nilesh Telgade(30), residents of the Kandivali suburb of Mumbai. The trio had apparently rented a car to attend a funeral. Despite the lockdown, the three managed to reached Palghar, 120 km from Mumbai, where they were stopped by a demonic mob baying for their blood. The crowd suspected that the three men belonged to the child thief gang and launched an aggressive assault against them. Later, when the police recovered the three men and took them to the hospital, they were pronounced dead on arrival.
