Boycott Swiggy trends after their distasteful tweet on Rohit Sharma

Swiggy issues clarification later says ‘we’re always with the Paltan’

Online Food delivery platform Swiggy is trending on twitter with #BoycottSwiggy for making fun of Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma. Swiggy trended along with Rohit after a photoshopped image of Hitman near a ‘Vada pav’ stall went viral. While fans are confused if a tweet was actually made by the online food delivering app and then deleted, they have started reacting.

Sharing the image, they wrote “Hater’s will say it’s photoshopped’. Swiggy might have thought that their tweet would bring a smile to the MI fans’s faces, but their stunt has completely backfired. The tweet has gone down well with most of the fans as they lashed out against the food delivery platform. Swiggy was quick to delete the tweet but the damage was already done.

Later, Swiggy has issued a clarification and said “we reposted a fan;s tweet in good humour. While the image was not created by us. we do not admit it could’ve been worded better. It was not meant to offend anyone in the least. Needless to say, we’re always with the Paltan”
