Organized Muslim mob torches Dalit MLA’s house
Bengaluru : Is it actual example of intolerance ? Last night, thousands of organized Muslim mob went out of control and released outrageous viciousness in Bengaluru over alleged derogatory Facebook post on Prophet Muhammad by a close relative of Congress legislator R Akhanda Srinivasamurthy.
According to the report, at least three persons were killed and over 100 serious injured as violence erupted near DJ Halli and KG Halli Police Station over inciting social media post on Prophet. A violent mob attacked police station, pelt stones, burnt vehicles and vandalized Pulakeshinagar Dalit MLA’s house.
trouble began around 7 p.m when the organized violent Muslim mobs armed with sticks, iron rods and other weapons attacked MLA Srinivasamurthy’s house in Kavalbyrasandra, fought pitched battles with police and set ablaze several vehicles. Congress legislator Srinivasamurthy represents Pulikeshinagar constituency which is reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC).
Bengaluru Police clamped curfew in areas coming under KG Halli, DG Halli, Bharathinagar, Pulikeshinagar and Banaswadi Police stations, besides imposing prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC on the entire city.
Meanwhile, angry Muslim mobs pelted stones, ablaze vehicles, ATMs, Shops near the locality while protesting against the alleged offensive post made by one relative of Pulikeshinagar’s Dalit MLA. Social media posts of few people involved in the Bangalore violence indicate that the riots could have been pre-planned as well as the mobilization of Muslims were allegedly made on social media platform on Tuesday late evening.
Bollywood celebrity Swara Bhaskar tweeted “No excuses for violence and arson ! No, hurt sentiments are not an excuse ! Highly condemnable, the violence by Muslim hooligans in Bangalore just proves religious fanaticism is a scourge in all communities. Guilty must be brought to book as per law. Sgameful ! #Bangaloreriots ”
BJP leader Satya Kumar tweeted “A week before, all the so-called seculars were crying hoarse about ‘secularism’ being under threat in India due to the Shilanyas of Ram Mandit. But the same seculars are maintaining a conspicuous silence over the attack on Dalit MLA Akhanda Srinivas and police”
AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted “The violence and objectionable/offensive social media posts are highly condemnable. I appeal to everyone involved to not indulge in violence. I hope peace is strengthened”
Meanwhile, Bengaluru police Commissioner Kamal Pant tweeted “with regards to incidents in DJ Halli, accused Naveen arrested for posting derogatory post. Also total 110 accused arrested for arson, stone pelting and assault on police . Appeal to all to corporate with police to maintain peace”
