Bengal will be Atma-Nirbhar under Modi’s leadership: Arindam Bhattacharya
New Delhi: Migration of TMC party leaders continues in West Bengal ahead of assembly election 2021. Arnidam Bhattacharya, MLA from Santipur constituency of Nadia district, on Wednesday, joined BJP at the party’s national headquarter in presence of BJP’s national general secretary and West Bengal observer Kailash Vijayvarigiya.
Addressing the media, Mr. Bhattacharya said “I had joined the TMC with great hopes. I had big plans for my region. I tried my best to work but people like me were not allowed to progress. Our hands were tied in TMC. Infact, many eligible leaders who wanted to perform and take their area forward were not allowed to work”
Santipur MLA accused the TMC leadership of blocking the path of the young leaders like him and said “Today, youth in West Bengal is fed up as they are jobless. The youth got assurance but they didn’t get jobs. There is no vision, no future planning, no industrialization and work is zero. This TMC government comes with big expectations, but see what is happening. The name of Bengalis is attached with corruptions today, which is shameful. We can’t create hurdles, rather we were not allowed to work. Our dream is for Atma-Birbhar-West Bengal and Armanirbhar Inida, which is Modi’s vision”
Arindam Bhattacharya’s move comes has come a day after Mamata Banerjee, addressing a rally in Purulia, said that those who want to join the BJP can leave.
Mr. Bhattacharya was once the president of the West Bengal state youth Congress. In 2016, he became MLA of Santipur assembly constituency on a Congress ticket. Later, he left the Congress and joined the TMC. Thereafter, he has been working for the state ruling party. But, in grassroots level, he didn’t have good relationship with local TMC leader Ajay Dey. It’s believed that Mr. Bhattacharya have decided to join the saffron party as he gradually moved away from the TMC’s circle of power.
