TOI’s Hindu-phobic reporting goes viral

Times of India’s 2018 post on ‘Godman’ under scanner

India’s leading English newspaper Times of India (TOI)’s post on ‘Maharashtra ‘Godman’ forces men into unnatural sex” published on July 23, 2018; goes viral on social media and people trending #ShameOnTOI due to its alleged ‘anti-Hindu’ mentality. Netizens alleging that TOI used a Hindu monk ‘representative’ image to uncover Muslim ‘Godman’.

‘A 38-year-old self proclaimed Godman was arrested from Maharashtra’s Buldana district, days after audio clips and videos of him allegedly forcing male devotees into unnatural sex.” according to TOI report on ‘Godman‘, ‘the accused, Asif Noori’

It’s alleged that TOI used a Hindu “Godman’ (Sannyasi) representative image to unfold Asif Noori’s image.

Radharamn Das (@RadharamnDas) shared a viral video tweet , where he claimed that TOI reporter intentionally used Hindu Sannyasi’s (monk) image to defame ‘Hinduism’.

However, after the wide-spread controversy, Times of India removed the controversial image.
