Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi turned 74 on December 9. But in support of farmers’ agitation against the farm laws and coronavirus situation in the country, Ms. Gandhi will not be celebrating her birthday.
Congress has asked all the state heads of the party to avoid any kind of celebration, including cake cutting on Sonia Gandhi’s birthday.
“Farmers are on the state-facing the harsh climate and brutal crackdown from the government, Congress leaders instead of celebrations should strengthen the efforts to provide relief to all those who are suffering and extend support to fighting Anndatas” Sonia Gandhi has conveyed to all party in-charge, according to the sources.
However, wishes poured in from across the political spectrum for Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted “Birthday greetings to Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji. May God bless her with a long and healthy life”

However, Twitter started trending #BarDancerDay on Sonia Ji birthday.
