Why Are the So Called Intellectuals Silent on WB Para Teacher Revati Raut’s Death : Locket Chatterjee
New Delhi , Digital Desk : BJP leader Locket Chatterjee on Friday raised the issue of death of a para teacher ‘Revati Raut’ in West Bengal amid interruptions by Trinamool Congress members and accused the Mamata Banerjee Government indifferent to the incident.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour , Locket Chatterjee said WB Para Teachers were on strike and one of them had died while five-six protesters had been hospitalized.
On her Tweet BJP MP Smt. Chatterjee said “Rewati Raut, a para teacher lost her life due to the sheer ignorance of @Mamataofficial. Para teachers are on hunger strike for their valid demands. ” she also added ” Where are the so called intellectuals and why are they silent on Revati’s death ? How many more must die ? ”

The Para teachers of West Bengal are demanding a salary hike and upgrading of their status to permanent teachers. Revati Raut, a middle aged para teacher who had taken part in the sit-in by para teachers in Kolkata for several days, died at her residence in West Midnapur’s Debra on Thursday.
WB Governor Jagdeep Dhankar tweeted “Over 1000 para teachers are on a sit in since November 11. Altogether 37 of them are on an indefinite fast from Friday .”
