Darbhanga : Again a new name with a hashtag #JusticeForJyoti trending on social media platform after the news aired that a 14-year-old girl brutally raped and murdered for stealing mangoes in Darbhanga district on Wednesday. The heart-wrenching incident took place at Pataur village under Ashok Paper Mill Police Station.

The girl father is alleged that she was raped and murdered by Arjun Mishra, a ex-serviceman, for stealing mangoes from his orchard , Ashok Papaer Mill station SHO Jaja Ali said.

According to the police report, the girl’s father alleged that she had left home at around 6 am on Wednesday. They started looking for her when she didn’t return even after two hours. “The father told the police that they found her body inside the orchard with ligature mark on her neck”

Soon after the incident came to light , irate villagers thrashed Arjun’s wife inside the Mango garden (orchard). Police were rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control .

The SHO said, the girl’s father named Arjun, his wife and a youth living with them as accused and an FIR was lodged on the basis of the statement.
