Pune : 6 persons arrested including one serving military person with fake currency
Pune, ANI : The Pune Police Crime branch detained 6 persons including one serving military personnel with multiple denominations of fake Indian and Foreign currency . Crime branch is furthering the investigation by interrogating these arrested people. Also , counting of currencies and further investigation is underway.

During Coronavirus crisis , Pune Police and Military intelligence in a joint operation have busted a fake currency racket in Pune. Approximately ,fake currency worth Rs.10 crore has been seized . Fake US dollars also been recovered during search operation.
DCP (Crime) Bachchan Singh said “The joint CP Pune had directed to plan an operation .After detailed planning with MI team , a joint operation was carried out today in which 6 persons including a serving military person has been detained with multiple denominations of fake Indian and foreign currency. Counting of currency is going on as per the procedure”
He added “Crime branch unit-4 and Anti-Narcotics Cell (West Region) teams coordinated with MI teams for the operation. Further interrogation going on regarding sources of the currency. The legal process will follow.”
According to report, the detained Serving Army personnel has identified as Naik Sheikh Saab of Bombay Engineer group or Bombay Sappers (a regiment of the corps of engineers of the Indian Army) . Fake currency (Indian and foreign) worth Rs.10 crore has been recovered along with pistol and fake Army identity card.
