DMK MLA J Anbazhagan Dies of COVID in Chennai ; Supporters mourn
Tamil Nadu : First VIP Politician Died by COVID
Chennai : Tamil Nadu DMK MLA J Anbazhagan from Chepauk-Triplicane , who had tested positive for novel coronavirus , died in Chennai hospital on Wednesday morning. J Anbazhagan is the first big political leader to die of COVID-19 in the Southern state. The 61 years old mass leader was admitted to hospital on June 2 over ‘severe acute respiratory distress’ and tested positive for Wuhan virus at the time.
He was put on Ventilator support on June 3 when his breathing trouble worsened . He was been treated for COVID-19 at Dr. Rela Institute and Medical Centre at Chromepet in Chennai.
The 61-year old MLA, who has been fighting for his life with severe COVID-19 pneumonia rapidly deteriorated early this morning. Inspite of full medical support, including mechanical ventilation at our COVID-19 facility, he succumbed to his illness,

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami expressed sorrow over DMK MLA J Anbazhagan’s death and offered his deepest condolence to his family and beloved.

DMK President M K Stalin also condoled Anbazhagan’s death and paid rich tribute to him . Stalin tweeted “The thunder and the lightning went down …. Brother who is devoted to the work of the people and is a flaming torch @JAnbazhagan . How can I forget ? … ”

Tamil Nadu Minister of Health , Dr. C Vijayabaskar also expressed his sadness for the loss of J Anbalagan.

However, J Anbalagan was also a film producer . He produced ‘Aadhi Baghavan’ in 2013 and a distributor for another ‘Yaaruda Mahesh (2013)’ under his Anbu Pictures banner.
