Tamil Nadu : Indigo passenger tested covid positive

Chennai : A coronavirus positive case was reported on the Chennai-Coimbatore Indigo flight 6E 381. Indigo officially said “We received confirmation from the Coimbatore airport doctor that a passenger who travelled on 6E 381 from Chennai to Coimbatore on May 25 evening  has tested positive for novel coronavirus’

This is the first case of a passenger tested positive for covid-19 after after the resumtion of domestic flight services on May 25.

The passenger who board on Indigo 6E 381 Chennai-Coimbatore flight , has been sent on quarantine at ESI state medical facility at Coimbatore. As a precautionary measures , the crew members that operated on the flight have been grounded for next 14 days.

Initially the passenger was put under institutional quarantine at the Vinayak Hotel in Coimbatore. Now , the 24 years old Indigo flyer has been admitted to the ESI Coimbatore.

Confirming the case , Indigo officially stated that the passenger was seated on board 6E 381 with all precautionary measures including a facemask, face shield and gloves, as were the other passengers.

Indigo also clarified that ‘all our are regularly sanitized as a SOPs , and the aircraft operating this flight was also immediately disinfected as per protocol’
