Tamil Nadu coronavirus updates

Chennai : Tamil Nadu coronavirus latest updates as on May 21. According to Vijaya Baskar , Health Minister of the state “776 new positive covid-19 cases and 7 deaths reported in the state today, of which 567 cases are from Chennai. 400 patients have been discharged today”

Till now 3,72,532 swab samples have been taken and sent for testing. Covid-19 testing is done in 41 government and 25 private lab all over Tamil Nadu. 13,967 persons have tested positive till date. 3,57,898 samples were tested negetive.

• Number of persons tested positive today in TN – 689
• Number of passengers returned from other countries initially tested negetive and turned positive on exit test today – 07 (Chicago -6, Muscat -01)
• Passengers returned from other countries tested positive today – Maldives -01
• Passengers returned from other states tested positive today – Maharashtra-76, Kerala-01, Delhi-01 ,West Bengal-01
• Total positive cases registered today – 776
