Murshidabad : Mahila TMC host Blood Donation Camp in Berhampore
District Mahila TMC President Sahanaj Begam donates life saving blood
Berhampore : Overcoming their Covid-19 fear, Murshidabad Mahila (Women) Trinamool Congress (TMC) come forward to host blood donation camp in the district party office (TMC) in Berhampore on Friday. A total 60 persons donated blood including the Sahanaj Begam, President of Murshidabad district TMC (Women wing).
District Trinanool Congress President and the member of Parliament from Murshidabad constituency, Abu Taher Khan, inuaguarted the blood donation camp.
Actually, due to nationwide lockdown amid coronavirus pandemic, has impacted supplies in blood banks across West Bengal. Earlier, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee taken up an initiative to organise blood donation capms across the state in the midst of the covid-19 lockdown.
On Friday, Murshidabad Mahila TMC president organised a blood donation camp at District Party Office . Total 60 units bloods has been collected. TMC women activists donated life saving blood . District leader Sahanaj Begam also donated blood during the camp.
Sahanaj Begam said “We are conducting this blood donation drive in association with Murshidabad Medical College & Hospital . We are learning that due to this pandemic , the number of volunteers in blood banks has been decreased and by organising such camps we want to convey the massage to the people that there is no harm in donating blood in the time of Coronavirus pandemic.”
“There are a lot of needy people who required blood in these times also so it’s just an effort to help such people . I would like to say that we need not fear this pandemic and be positive. The blood donation drive is normal thing and it should continue.” Sahanaj Begam added ” CM Mamata Banerjee is our inspiration. The pride of Bengal Mamata Banerjee showed up many times, how to help needy people in crisis. ”
