Triple Talaq Bill Passed in Lower House

Finally Narendra Modi led BJP Government passed “The Triple Talaq Bill” by Lok Sabha in Winter session . The legislature considered a law on it after the Supreme Court said in August a year ago that the traditional method of Muslim men instantly divorcing their wives by uttering “Talaq” thrice was “unconstitutional” and “arbitrary”. Indian Parliament’s lower house Loksabha on Thursday passed the Triple Talaq Bill which criminalizes the practices of Instant 3 Talaq . The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill 2018 paased by the Loksabha with 245 voting in favour and 11 opposing the legislature.

Member of Parliaments (MPs)  from Congress, AIMIM, Trinamool Congress and the NCP have requested that the bill be sent to the Select Committee, guaranteeing its arrangements were unlawful and there was a requirement for a more noteworthy examination of the draft law.

The proposed law recommends a three-year imprisonment term for blundering spouses, which the resistance parties state was not in the soul of the Supreme Court judgment forbidding triple talaq. The zenith court had a year ago announced the training “illegal“.
