Kerala ready to include Sreesanth in Ranji team after spot-fixing ban end

BCCI reduced Sreesanth ban to 7 years

Kochi : The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has decided to include pressure S. Sreesanth in the state Ranji Cricket team in September after his ban period ends. Sreesanth was banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a life-time in August 2013 for alleged spot fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). But, last BCCI reduced his life-time ban to seven years , which is set to complete on September 13 of 2020.

In 2018 the Kerala High Court had also revoked the BCCI decision to impose a life ban on him. But in 2019 the Hon’ble Supreme Court upheld his guilt and asked the BCCI to reduce his quantum of punishment. Later, the BCCI had reduced his life ban to seven years which will end in September 2020.

In interview with Hindustan Times, Sreesanth said “I’m really indebted to the KCA for giving me a chance .I will prove my fitness and storm back to the game”

The 37-year-old Sreesanth took 87 wickets in 27 tests and 75 wickets in one-day international. We was also a member of the India’s World Cup Cricket winning team in 2011.
