Digital desk : Fake News alert . News about legendary Sri Lankan Cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya’s death has been doing rounds on Social media are fake & hoax. A website called CBTV published an article on 21st May 2019 that “Man knocked down by vehicle in Toronto identified as former Sri Lankan Cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya” . As per the article Sanath Jayasuriya died in a car accident in Canada.
The news is totally fake and hoax. Sanath Jayasuriya is alive and well . An unverified Twitter account by the name of Sanath Jayasuriya tweeted saying ” please disregard fake news by malicious websites regarding my health and well being. I am in Sri Lanka and have not visited Canada recently. Please avoid sharing fake news. ”
