It’s official, Fernando Alonso signs with Renault for 2021 F1 season
Fernando will replace Daniel Ricciardo
Two times Formula one world champion Fernando Alonso will make 2021 F1 comeback with French team Renault after two years out of the racing arena. With 314 Grand Prix starts, 32 wins and 97 podium, Spanish F1 legend Fernando has signed a contact with the Renault for upcoming 2021 F1 seasons.
Fernando will replaces Australia’s Dainel Ricciardo as he moving to McLaren at the end of the year.
The F1 legend said “Renault is my family, my fondest memories in Formula one with my two World Champions titles, but I’m now looking ahead. It’s great source of pride and with and immense emotion I’m returning to the team that gave me my chance at the start of my career and which now gives me the opportunity to return to the highest level.”

He added “I have principles and ambitions in line with the team’s project. Their progress this winter gives credibility to the objectives for the 2022 season and I’ll share all my racing experience with everyone from the engineers to the mechanics and my team mates. The team wants and has the means to get back on the podium, as do I”

Fernando Alonso is widely recognized as one of the best F1 drivers of his generation. He last raced in F1 for McLaren in 2018 before pursuing other driving goals including the Indy 500 , the 24 hours of La Mans and the Dakar Rally.
