Father and son celebrate in Rockingham after winning Monday Lotto
Perth Lotto Winner : a family won $1 M
Perth : A father and son have come forward as the owner of Monday Lotto jackpot worth $1 million. The Rockingham family used a mixture of birthday numbers in their 18 game tickets , which was bought from Waterfront News gift and Lottery Centre.
The son said his father started to get a very good feeling as they checked the ticket.
“Dad said, ‘these number looks familiar ‘and I said ‘hold your horses’ let’s make sure you’re not losing the plot ” the son said.
The big win provides some much needed financial relief after Covid-19 destroyed the son’s dream of starting business.
He said “I finished my old job in the pursuit of a career change, which was halted due to Covid-19”
“This win now gives me time to get a head start in setting up my own business”
The win came just days after a Winthrop man came forward to collect his prize ,worth more than half-a-million dollars , from May 30 Saturday Lotto draw.
The man had been playing Lotto for 30 years – always buying his own ticket- and the most he had ever won was $60.
But that all changed when his wife decided to buy the ticket.
The ticket was bought from Winthrop village News and Gift and is worth more than $502,000.
Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said there’s now $100 million ups for grabs across powerball and OZ Lotto.
He said “For the last month , no one across the nation has been able to match the winning numbers for Tuesday’s Oz lotto draw resulting in the game climbing to an incredible $50 million jackpot”
“It joins tonight’s $50 million Powerball draw , making it combined $100 million on offer”
“We would love to see a Western Australian in our Winners room following these two draws”
Tickets for tonight’s powerball jackpot are available until 6 P.M tonight from Lotterywest in-store, online or through the mobile application.
