Vande Bharat Mission 2020
New Delhi : Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that , additional flights had been announced by Air India under Vande Bharat Mission. Bookings start from 1100 hrs on May 30. The Air India additional flights are Delhi to Auckland on June 4, Delhi to Chicago & Stockholm on June 5, Delhi to New York, Frankfurt & Seoul on June 6, Mumbai to London & Newark on June 6.

India Government launched mega evacuation rescue operation ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ on May 7. Over, 45,000 stranded Indians were brought back home from abroad under the evacuation mission and another 1,00,000 will be evacuated till June, 13.

Besides, Air India flights, private and chartered flights have also begun to operate and bring back Indians stranded abroad.
Earlier, MEA spokesperson Mr. Anurag Srivastava said, a total 3,08,200 people have registered their request with Indian mission abroad for repatriation to India on compelling grounds.
Mr. Srivastava added, ‘the government is targeting to bring back 1,00,000 stranded people from 60 countries by the end of phase two of Vande Bharat Mission’
‘ Preparations of third phase of Vande Bharat Mission are well underway’ he said.
