India Ready to drive World’s largest vaccination Program to end Covid-19 pandemic
Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates praised India’s leadership in Scientific innovation and vaccine manufacturing capability. Tagging to PMO India, the well-known billionaire said “It’s great to see India’s leadership in Scientific innovation and vaccine manufacturing capability as the world works to end the Covid-19 pandemic”
Earlier, WHO also recognized India’s ‘decisive fight’ against the coronavirus. Director-General of World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus tweeted “India continues to take decisive action and demonstrate its resolve to end Covid19 pandemic. As the World’s largest vaccine producer it’s well placed to do so”
“If we #ACtogether, we can ensure effective and safe vaccine are used to protect the most vulnerable everywhere” Tedros said and tagged India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his tweet.
Meanwhile, the Drug Controller General of India on Sunday approved the Oxford’s Covid-19 vaccine Covishield, manufactured by SERUM Institute and indigenously developed COVAXIN of Bharat Biotech, for restricted emergency used in the country, paving the way for a massive inoculation drive.
