China’s aggression over Tibet

Tibetan spiritual leader The Dalai Lama turns 85 today. Along with India around 535 million Budhists in the World will be celebrating The Dalai Lama’s birthday. While the birthday will be low-key affair due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tibetan Parliament has planned for a series of virtual events worldwide. The ‘Year of Gratitude’ will be observed from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

Tibet, currently occupied by China, is one of the principal nation in the World , where Buddhism is the sole religion. And the The Dalai Lama is the supreme spiritual leader of Tibet .

The Nobel Peace Prize-winning Buddhists spiritual leader The Dalai Lama fled to India following a revolt in 1959 in Tibet. The hatred against Cina’s interference in Tibet was so high that after the fall of Qing Dynasty in 1913. But, after the ‘New Democraic Revolution’ in China , the communist leader Mao forecibily declared his intention to ‘liberate’ Tibet in 1950. Thereafter, China systematically tried to abolish Buddhist culture and traditions in Tibet.

The greatest loss for Buddhists around the World was the loss of independece for Tibet when China forecibily entered the holy country and massacred innocent Tibetan protestors. ‘The Dalai Lama’ was the icon of Tibetan revolt. Millions of Tibetan along with The Dalai Lama fled to India in 1959 when Chinese aggression and massacred reached to its top.

Tibet is one of the most important holy place for Buddhists. The principles and philosophy of Buddhism was practised from historical times in Tibet. World Buddhists are well concious of the fact that visit to Tibet and praying at the Monestry in Tibet is s compelling necessity for them .

Tibetans can’t conserv their traditional cultures in Tibet due to Chinese aggresion over them. So, they wants ‘Free Tibet’. The two countries that can decisively help Tibet in getting its most needed freedom are India and the America, where a consirable section of citizens sympathise with the Tibetan traditions .

In the present time, several liberal governments, around the globe,should be responsible to appeal “Free Tibet”. It’s time to build a concreate voice for Tibetan to give the “Justice”
