May everyone be healthy and free from illness: PM Modi
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday virtually launched World’s largest Vaccine Drive. The vaccination programme, aimed at inculcating 3 crore health and other frontline Covid warriors first, will use shots manufactured in India- one developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca’s ‘Covishield’; the other by Bharat Biotech’s ‘Covaxin’ .
A total of 3006 session sites across the nation are virtually connected during the launch. On day one around 3,00,000 people will receive the first two doses of indigenous coronavirus vaccine.
” India begins the world’s Largest vaccine Drive. This is a day of pride, a celebration of the prowess of our scientists and hardwork of our medical fraternity, nursing staff, police personnel and sanitation workers” Narendra Modi tweeted “may everyone be healthy and free from illness”

During his virtual speech, Narendra Modi said “start of vaccination does not mean people should stop following the Covid protocols of wearing masks and maintaining social distancing”
“In the fight against Corona, we have set an example for the world at many steps. When countries left their citizens, stuck in China amidst this pandemic, on their own, India stepped up and evacuated not only Indians but also people of the other nations under Vande Bharat Mission” PM said.
