Moscow (Reuters) : Russia said it escorted two USAF B-52 bombers over the sea of Okhotsk. On Friday, the Russian Defence Minister cited to Instafax News Agency that Moscow scrambled fighter jets to intercept two United States Air Force (USAF) B-52 bombers flying over the Russia’s far eastern coast.
Si-30, Su-35 and Mig-31 fighters sped to the region to prevent any violations of Russia’s border, the Kremlin backed news agency reported.
The incident come two days after US fighter Jets were scrambled for Russian Nuclear capable Tupolev Tu-95MS bombers during a planned flight off the coast of Alaska.
Russia has accused the US and its NATO allies of encroaching upon its territory at a higher frequency in recent years.
