PM Modi’ surprise visit to Ladakh amid India-China border tension
Modi visit forward locations in Nimmoo
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise visit to forward posts in Ladakh in this morning and interacted with Army, Air Force and ITBP personnel located at 11,000 feet toughest terrain surrounded by the Zanskar range and on the banks of the Indus.
This is the first high profile visit from the executive leadership to the region ever since the India-China border standoff erupted in early May.

The Prime Minister accompanied by Chief of Defence staff General Bipin Rawat and Army Chief General MM Naravane, arrived at Nimu this morning and interacted with Indian troops.



Images showed PM Modi siting in a camouflage tent as he spoke to the troops seated at distance from each other against the backdrop of the Himalayas.

According to the PMO, PM Modi was at a forward location in Nimu. He reached there early morning by chopper from Leh will return later today.
