Argentina : 26 years of the terrorist attack
The Argentine actor Ricardo Darín recorded a video as part of a series of artistic event generated by AMIA to commemorate the 26th anniversary of the terrorist attack against the entity’s headquarters on July 18, 1994. In the video, called ‘Let’s stop hatred’ Darín reproduces the monologue of the emblematic movie “The Great Dictator”, by Charles Chaplin, released in the United states 80 years ago , as reported.
“Greed has poisoned the soul, has erected barricades of hatred, has pushed us towards misery and killing” shocking phrase which is part of the final monologue that Charles Chaplin gave for his emblematic film ‘The Great Dictator’ released in the USA in 1940.
With the idea and general realization of Elio Kapszuk, the direction of Cecilia and music by Leo Sujatovich , the audio-visual production is called “Let’s Stop Hatred”
The video ends with a slogan that calls for reflection and action “Let’s not feed hatred, let’s stop it with truth, memory and justice”
As per wikipedia, the suicidal terrorist bombing attack on the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA) building in Buenos Aires was conducted on July 18, 1994, killing 85 people and injured hundreds. That was the Argentina’s deadliest terrorist attack to date.
