World Environment Day : The theme for 2019 is Beat Air Pollution and China is the host nation
World Environment Day 2019
Every Year, World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated on 5th June for encouraging awareness and action for the protect of environment . World Environment day was established by the UN General Assembly in 1972 on the first day of Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. On 1974, UN released World Environment Day first theme and that was “Only One Earth”. It has been a flagship campaign for raising awareness on emerging Environmental issues from marine pollution, Human overpopulation and global warming to sustainable development.
The campaign each year is organised around a theme that draws attention to a particularly pressing Environmental concern. World Environment Day 2019 theme is “Beat Air Pollution” and the host nation is “China’. In 2019, theme theme was “Beat Plastic Pollution ” and India was the host nation.
