Massachusetts : Boston Protest; Peaceful demonstrations throughout the day, destructions and looting overnight. Thousands protesters marched peacefully through the city carrying “Black Lives Matter’ signs and chanting “the people united will never be defeated’ to show anger over the death of George Floyd.
The peaceful nature of the Boston protest turn violent on Sunday night. Destruction and looting filled the streets of downtown Boston for several hours.

Nicole Oliverio tweeted a video post to share the peaceful demonstrations of Boston protest. She tweeted “a look from above of the protestors who have marched peaceflly from Nubian Square to the State House. This is only a small portion of the people who have gathered to protest the wrongful death of George Floyd.”

The atmosphere downtown changed dramatically after sunset. Boston police were seen using pepper spray and hitting man with a baton in Downtown crossing just after 9 p.m .

Vandalism and looting was seen at multiple stores in the area, including in Downtown crossing , on Newbury Street and at the Copley place mall over the next several hours.

Boston Mayor Marty Walse tweeted “I am angered, however, by the people who came into our city and chose to engage acts of destructions and violence , undermining their massage. If we are to achieve change and if we are to lead the change, our efforts must be rooted in peace and regard for our community”

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker issued a similar massage supporting the protest but denouncing the violence
