Patrice Harris : New President of AMA
Patrice Harris, MD, is the new president of the American Medical Association (AMA) .She is the first American-African Woman to assume the post . Harris is well known in the house of Medicine. She has held leadership position in the American Psychiatric Association , Georgia’s Psychiatric Physicians Association and the Medical Association of Georgia’s Council of Legislation. She has been on the AMA’s board trustees since 2011.
After becoming the first African-American woman to lead the American Medical Association (AMA) as president, in a inaugural address she said “I am my ancestors’ wildest dreams !” .
