MLB Star Nich Signs With Reds

The Cincinnati Reds have signed outfielder Nicholas Castellanos to a multi year deal. MLB insider Jeff Passan twitted “The opt-out in Nicholas Castellanos’ four year , $64 million deal with the Cincinnati Reds is after the first season, source ESPN” .

With Castellanos in the fold the Reds are going to have a lot of outfielders when they hit Goodyear, Arizona, in a couple of week, with newcomer Shogo Akiyama, Jesse Winkler , Nick Senzel, Aristides Aquino, Travis Jankowski, Scott Schebler, and rule 5 draftee Mark Payton already on the roaster.

The 27 years old Nicholas used his 51 games with the Chicago Cubs to end last season to cash in with the Reds, whom MLB network Jon Heyman reported as “a player” in the Castellanos sweepstakes on January 22, 2020.

From 2013to midway through 2019 with Tigers , Nich played a combination of outfield, third base and designated hitter. At the plate, he hit .274/.324/.459 for 104 home runs and 424 RBI across 837 games.
