NWS Has Issued Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Parts of New Jersey
Thunderstorm & Tornado Warning in NJ
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a rare February Tornado Warning in parts of Southern New Jersey . The Weather Service Office in Mount Holly said it spotted cloud rotation in weather Radar ,which prompted the warning to be issued at 9:54 A.M (EST). In addition the NWS Mount Holly issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Toms River NJ, New Brunswick NJ, Lakewood, Morris town, Dover, Madison, Philadelphia, Trenton, Camden and Vine land.
According to NWS, a thunderstorm cell moving through these areas could produce wind gusts as strong as 70 mph , along with hail up to three quarters of an inch in diameter . The storm warning is effective until 11:45 A.M (EST) .
